The REMIX is a collaboration of the North Shore News and
Capilano University – both in North Vancouver, BC, Canada.
In Spring 2009, Capilano students will be setting out to find and make textual and visual leaps in response to articles, photographs, advertisements, and classified content in the North Shore News. They will transform their discoveries and insights into REMIX blog posts. Some students will respond with rewrites and critiques. Others with photographs and paintings. Flash poems and web collages. Poems and stories.
All the REMIXES link back to original piece in the North Shore News. A selection of these REMIXES will be published on the North Shore News site and in the print edition of the paper.
The project is the result of a collaboration between Dee Dhaliwal (North Shore News) and Aurelea Mahood (Capilano University – CultureNet). The project came to life with the help of Brian Ganter, Roger Farr and Reg Johanson of Capilano University and Chris Johnson of Canwest.
Over to the students – REMIX it.
