isual representations can leave a lasting impression. Taking articles from the local news and changing the way they are presented transforms not only the way we read the content, but also transforms the way the content is perceived.

Bell Cell Tower Declined

January 30, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Cindy Cely-Cardenas

Bell Mobility has decided to drop the plans for the construction of an 18-storey cell phone tower, as discussed in the North Shore News article “Bell drops cell tower plan for Edgemont” from the January 25, 2009 edition. This was great news to the neighbourhood of Edgemont. The neighbourhood had adopted a “not in my back yard” kind of attitude when the project was first introduced to them back in May 2008. Nearby residents were quite concerned not only about possible health issues but also how overwhelming the possible presence of a tower near their homes would be. I have created a visual representation of two possible outcomes that may have been brought into consideration when finalizing the decision of this project. The first one is the loss of an employment opportunity to the construction industry, which is now being affected directly by our economic downturn. The second outcome would have been a massive tower placed in an inconvenient location.
